A living tradition, brought to New York.

The Yuthog Tibetan Natural Healing Center is more than a clinic — it is a bridge between the ancient medical tradition of Tibet and the communities of New York City.

Our practice is grounded in the teachings of the Yuthog lineage, one of the oldest and most respected lineages in Tibetan medicine. This tradition traces its roots back over a thousand years to the great physician Yuthog Yonten Gonpo, whose foundational texts continue to guide practitioners today.

We are also home to the Tibetan Medicine Study Group of New York — a community of students and practitioners dedicated to studying, preserving, and sharing this profound system of healing. Whether you are seeking relief from a chronic condition, exploring preventive wellness, or simply curious about Tibetan medicine, you are welcome here.

Three pillars of Tibetan medicine.

Sowa Rigpa understands health as a dynamic balance between body, mind, and environment. Our practice is built on three foundational principles.

01

Diagnose with depth

We begin with pulse diagnosis — a refined art that reveals the state of your three rhythmic energies (Nyepa, Long, Bekan) — along with urine examination and a thorough conversation about your life.

02

Treat the root, not just the symptom

Tibetan medicine seeks the underlying cause of imbalance — whether dietary, emotional, seasonal, or karmic — and addresses it through a combination of herbs, diet, behavior, and external therapies.

03

Walk the path with you

Healing is a process, not an event. We accompany each person through their journey, adjusting remedies and guidance as your body responds and evolves over time.
